Veteran Alto Saxophonist Kurtis Rivers brings his fine Jazz quartet to the Piano Craft Gallery for an afternoon of great music.

The Piano Craft Gallery is excited to welcome back Makanda Project lead Alto saxophonist Kurtis Rivers. A long time veteran of the Boston Jazz scene, Kurtis is also well known for his quartet/quintet performances in intimate club settings. His current series at Levi’s Restaurant in Dorchester is a Sunday night favorite for those in the know and fans of all ages and locales have long been treated to Kurtis laying-down-the-law as the section leader of the Makanda Project. Years of jazz exploration inform his improvisation and his playing has substance and depth.

The Piano Craft Gallery has a long history of hosting a JazzWeek performance and it is our pleasure to bring back Kurtis who is sometimes lovingly referred to as the Mayor of Roxbury.

The Piano Craft Gallery, dedicated to offering thought-provoking and engaging exhibitions, is a historic Boston landmark located at 793 Tremont Street, Boston, Massachusetts. For more information, visit www.pianocraftgallery.com or www.facebook.com/gallerypf.
