Anthon Uhl: "I love painting the nude male figure and believe it is important to appreciate its raw beauty as well as to confront puritanical censorship. My paintings are not intended as mere portraits or representational art, but as icons of the principles that underlie living our best lives. This show includes my latest works as well as some paintings from my 2017 MenAffection shows in Provincetown."
Anton Uhl has been a professional artist for the past 51 years. A former set designer for opera, TV and movies, his works include commissions in glass, bronze, paintings and murals in the collections of celebrities around the world. "I have always loved the magic of art and it’s power to move and inspire, to give us vision and help us transcend the mundane bonds of the day to day.
